We published Simpliciti to only (1) Metaframe server. This was for two reasons:
1) We presently will have only have (9) active Kiosks running (low server farm loading).
2) Since we authenticate through our Firewall to the external Internet, Simpliciti clients needed to "auto-authenticate" to the Internet. How we did this, was to not challenge authentication at the Firewall for the IP address of the Metaframe server Simpliciti was published to*.
Published application settings:
Session Window Size: 1024x768
Colors: High Color (16 Bit)
Application Limits:
Limit instances allowed to run in Server Farm: 10 Maximum Limits (Where "10" is the number of Simpliciti licenses purchased. This is how we enforce Simpliciti user licensing).
To restrict what web sites the Kiosks could visit, we selected a product called Web Inspector
http://www.zixcorp.com/compro/webinspector.php
This application works extremely well with Simpliciti.
*Although we are not publishing Web Inspector as a Metaframe application, we launch a Web Inspector LUA (Lightweight User Authentication) executable (copied onto our Metaframe Domain Controller). The way we do this is to have the published Simpliciti app' simultaneously (via a CMD file) launch the LUA executable and Simpliciti. The (auto-authenticated) Kiosk user may then be monitored/restricted by the Citrix user login name.
Using Simpliciti Locked browser resulted in an $1800 savings (based on calculations for (9) clients. )
