The
following restriction capabilities are available.
Web restrictions are used when you do not want you users to leave your
site or have unlimited access to the internet. Simpliciti Restricted
Browser workspaces can be configured to provide Limited access to a number
of sites or domains.
When a URL is entered in the address bar or
a link is clicked on a page, the browser reviews this list to see if
that site is allowed to be viewed by this user.
You can enter an unlimited number of sites ,
pages or restrictions.
Hare are a couple of examples.
If you enter "cnn.com" you would
allow the browser to go to any pages that contain that domain. So the
address
http://www.cnn.com/TECH/space/ ,
http://www.cnn.com/WEATHER/
as well as www.cnn.com would be
allowed, however if you entered
www.cnn.com/ALLPOLITICS/grind/index.html , then only that specific
page would be allowed. (please note that this is no preceded with
http://) Also note that certain items may not appear on the cnn pages as
they are actually from another site.
Also you may want to try the example "msn.com" . In this case
you will see that sites such as
http://msn.espn.go.com/index.html?partnersite=espn ,
http://my.msn.com/ and
http://messenger.msn.com/ are
available , but when you select hotmail ( a linl on the page ) you will
get the error page. This is because hotmail link actually does a redirect
to a site that does not contain msn.com in the URL.
To see the contents of your allowable list use the Arrow bar beside the
box. To remove one from the list simply highlight it and select the
"Remove Restriction" button.

based on the list of allowed and denied sites entered. Simpliciti Workspaces also include scripting and events which allow for precise
control over functionality and restrictions. A restriction event is
included that can easily plug in to a restricted list data source.
Other web restrictions include control
over downloads, right click menu, popup management, etc.
